Dimebon side effects appear to be very minimal. One paper reported that “hardly any side effects” were found with Dimebon in clinical trials. Dimebon was very well tolerated in clinical trials. Many participants decided to participate in the continuation trials after the initial 6 month trial.

One fact that shows how minimal Dimebon side effects are is that more side effects were experienced by people taking the placebo than those taking Dimebon.

The main Dimebon side effects were dry mouth and depression/depressed mood. A potential Dimebon side effect is drowsiness. Since Dimebon is a first generation antihistamine it is quite possible that it may have the side effect of producing drowsiness.
