Dimebon and Alzheimer’s
The subject of the drug Dimebon and Alzheimer’s disease has been a hot topic in recent months. Dimebon and Alzheimer’s drug trials have been all over the news. The reason for the increased interest in Dimebon and Alzheimer’s is due to the great results that Dimebon obtained in the treatment of Alzheimer’s.
In a Russian clinical trial Dimebon was shown to keep patients at, or even above, baseline on every parameter tested, including memory, cognitive function, and behavior. Dimebon has shown the best results of any treatment compared to placebo.
As long as Dimebon continues to show good results, and shows an excellent safety profile, in future clinical trials then approval as an Alzheimer’s treatment should be a no brainer. The likelihood of there being major safety issues with Dimebon is minimal as it has used in Russia as an antihistamine for 25 years.
Dimebon and Alzheimer’s will continue to be a topic of great interest over the next few years. Hopefully, we will see Dimebon on the market soon and Alzheimer’s patients will be able to benefit from this treatment.
