Dimebon Alzheimer’s

The Dimebon Alzheimer’s research was conducted at the Laboratory of Neurochemistry, Institute of Physiologically Active Substances, Russian Academy of Sciences, Chernogolovka, Moscow Region.
These original experiments involved the systemic administration of antihistamine drug dimebon in order to prove the hypothesis that dimebon improves active avoidance conditioning in rats with chronic partial deprivation of cerebral cholinergic functions caused by intracerebroventricular injections of AF64A (chemically induced Alzheimer’s). This original Dimebon Alzheimer’s experiment found that the effects of dimebon on learning are similar to those of tacrine used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
This original experiment involving Dimebon treatment in animals led to the clinical trials that we are seeing today in humans. So far, human Dimebon Alzheimer’s research has been very promising and we hope that this Alzheimer’s treatment will be available soon.
